One small change can make a huge difference

We all have aspirations of what life could be like & how we would want it to look.  However do we really believe that’s how life could be or even if we deserve it?

I call these the if only’s

If only I were thinner
If only I were fitter
If only I had more time
If only I could earn more money
If only I could have………

Life would be so much better

However peace, happiness & contentment is really only achieved in the now, within the moment.

We all want quick fixes & in reality may not want to commit or even have the time or energy for a long term plan to achieve these goals

So how can making small changes impact on our lives?

Challenge yourself & reflect on the questions below to see how you can do ONE small thing that may change your life for the better
  • What is the ONE thing that could improve your life & what can you start doing today that would make it happen?
  • What ONE thing can you start praising yourself for to ensure you love yourself just a little more than yesterday?

  • What ONE negative thing could you stop saying to yourself?
  • What ONE thing could you start saying to your partner each day that would improve your relationship?
  • What is the ONE thing that you could stop doing to allow yourself to have more time for yourself?
  • What is the ONE thing you could start doing just for you?
My book of the month is WILD by Cheryl Strayed & highlights how after losing everything an impulsive decision changed her life forever. How one small change can make a huge difference.

Jo helped me identify a clear career path with realistic time lines. I was an average salesman expecting my first child, with no idea how I could further my career due to my lack of skills and not knowing how to manage. Jo helped me identify my strengths and weakness with many honest coaching sessions, she helped me gain confidence in myself by allowing me to learn without fear and almost embraced my mistakes as she taught me these needed to happen for me to take myself forward. Jo installed belief in me and developed me in a style that always kept me engaged. Through her coaching I managed to better manage myself. She helped me realise what my principles were and I stand by these each day. I have gone on to manage 3 separate branches all with bigger responsibility. I continue to learn each day and use Jo’s coaching sessions with my team. I thank Jo for investing her time in me and giving me the confidence and belief to achieve.

I called on Jo at a particularly difficult time in my life. I believed that I could not get over the death of my husband some 4/5 years earlier. I was angry, resentful and so very, very sad at the situation I had been left in. Through discussion I learned that actually, the problem was deeper than this, and went back to my childhood. I learned so much about myself – who I am, and what shaped me to be the person I am today. Once I was able to appreciate myself for who I was, I was able (with Jo’s guidance) to make positive changes to my life. As well as learning about myself, Jo helped me to understand the personality types of others – how to identify them, how to understand what makes them ‘tick’ and how to communicate effectively with them. This has particularly helped me when ‘negotiating’ with my children – a very valuable skill when I am outnumbered!

BOOK OF THE MONTH

The book I have chosen for August is WILD by Cheryl Strayed it demonstrates how seemingly small changes & decisions can create a new life. This book follows Cheryl & her journey after losing everything and captures the terrors and pleasures of one young woman forging ahead against all odds. It shows however hard a  journey is, it can strengthen, and ultimately heal.
